EMMA DONEY
President

Emma is the QLD State Manager, Partner and Senior Chartered Loss Adjuster with YDR Chartered Loss Adjusters. Emma specialises in public and products liability claims, contract works (section 1 and section 2) and professional indemnity matters with a focus on engineering, IT and medical claims. Emma holds a Bachelor of Laws, Diploma of Financial Services (Loss Adjusting), and has completed studies for a Certificate IV in Building.

TRACEY-LEE SWANEY
Vice President

Tracey-Lee has worked within the Insurance Industry for 29 years with the majority of her time in Claims Leadership roles within CGU Insurance/IAG Group.

   

Passionate about helping other young Insurance Professionals become the best they can be, Tracey enjoys imparting her experience and knowledge with others, coaching and developing them into confident & competent claims consultants.  

 

Tracey has participated in mentoring Young Insurance Professionals, in addition to being a part of panel discussions, finding this is great opportunity to share and impart knowledge to others who have a strong interest and passion about learning as much as they can.

 

Tracey is delighted to be a part of the QLD Claims Discussion Group as it aligns with her enthusiasm and joy to help others continually learn, grow and succeed along their own chosen career path.

JASON COURTENAY
Treasurer

Jason is the Claims Manager for BCS Broking, which is a boutique brokerage servicing the construction and resource sectors.  Jason has been working as a claims manager for insurance brokerages for several years and, before then, practised as a solicitor for a national law firm.  Jason’s areas of expertise are under deductible claims management, complex public liability and contract works claims.

NICOLA TENNENT
Secretary

Nicola is a Senior Risk Advisor at Suncorp and has been with the Suncorp Group for four years. Prior to this, Nicola was a lawyer in Australia and New Zealand specialising in civil litigation in professional indemnity (especially directors, architects, accountants, veterinarians) and public liability cases acting for national and international insurance companies including Lloyds syndicates, and brokers. Prior to law, Nicola spent 10 action packed years in print advertising as a sales manager and business analyst.

 

Nicola is admitted to practice Law in New Zealand and Queensland and has a Bachelor of Laws from Otago University and a National Certificate in Business Administration from Otago Polytechnic and Certificate 4 General Insurance through ANZIIF.  She has been involved in numerous charities including Foodbank (Queensland), NZ Foundation of the Blind, Riding for the Disabled, Australian Red Cross, and has been a mentor for Aunties & Uncles Queensland since 2012.

STACI CLARK
Digital Media Manager

Staci is the Head of Claims at NTI and has been in insurance for 20 years, holding various different roles including Claims Manager, Technical Manager, Auditor and Project Manager. Staci has been a key stakeholder in developing the award winning NTI claims proposition that has been recognised as a market leader in the industry. This recognition includes back to back wins as Claims Provider of the Year at the ANZIIF Insurance Industry Awards and also recently being awarded the winner of the Specialty category of the inaugural Mansfield Claims Award. Staci has completed her MBA.

CHRIS SMITH
Sponsorship Liaison Officer

MICHAEL KINCAID
Committee Member

Micheal has worked within the Insurance Industry for 17 years being heavily involved in claims management for both underwriters and brokers.   

 

Micheal has a passion to encourage likeminded individuals to grow within the broking and claims areas of the insurance industry. Micheal assists customers throughout the claims process and represents the broker market with leading underwriters regarding claims issues for his brokerage.

 

Micheal is an active member of the National Insurance Brokers Association Young Professionals Committee which assists in educating Young Brokers in the industry. Micheal is a very strong advocate for customer rights regarding insurance placement and claims.

 

Micheal is honoured to be a part of the QCDG as it complements his personal and career values and will assist in educating the insurance community.

GEOFF IRVINE
Committee Member

Geoff is a Partner and Head of the TurkLegal Brisbane office. Geoff has over 26 years experience in almost all aspects of insurance including Liability, Professional, Contract works, Recovery, General, Building, Construction, Engineering, Life, Marine, Aviation, Product, ISR, Mining and Transport.

Geoff is admitted to practice law in New Zealand, Victoria and Queensland.
